Having spent 23 years in the British Army, joining as a Guardsman in the Coldstream Guards in 1998, serving two operational tours under Op Banner in Northern Ireland and subsequently having worked as an Army musician and working in the Provost Branch for the last 15 years of my career, I left the Army in 2021 right in the middle of the COVID pandemic. During my final years in the Army, I studied for a Bachelor of Engineering degree at the Open University whilst working full time. Since leaving the Army, I have worked as an engineer in the medical imaging devices industry. With this in mind, I approach politics from the perspective of a working class person from the north of England, having grown up in Keighley and moving back to West Yorkshire after my Army career.
My political history, like my work history, is varied; in my younger years, I was a committed supporter of the Conservative Party, but as I aged and matured, so my political views became more nuanced. Over the last decade, I have been an advocate of the Labour Party, but since the current government came in to power, I have been deeply disappointed with their continued pandering to the right wing and their increasingly authoritarian policies.
In 2025, I finally had enough and, after watching a few episodes of Bold Politics with Zack Polanski, I joined The Green Party of England and Wales. Since then, I have spent quite a lot of time reading policies and manifestos for the videos that I make.
